An application letter

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing regarding a place in the reality show of ‘Big Brother’ as advertised in the last edition of ‘The News’.

I would really like to participate in this show because I have a lot of experience which will be helpful. First of all, I have been playing different kinds of board games and team games at school. Furthermore, I have solved many crosswords and have done many puzzles.

I have always wanted to take part in a reality show because I believe that it would be a great opportunity to meet and talk with other people, as I am a sociable and outgoing person. In addition, I would like to obtain some experience in reality TV, since that has always been my dream.

I speak English fluently because I have been studying the English language for eight years. I hold a certificate of FCE level and I have visited England twice. Moreover, I think I am a very clever person. I would be grateful if you would consider me. You can contact me on 56237135272.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,
Christina Mavradonaki

  1. Dear Christina,

Thank you for your application. We are interested in having you on the show, but before we make the final decision we want you to write another letter agreeing to the following:

    1. The TV company will not be responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur during the filming.

    2. You will not refuse to do any of the activities we tell you to do (these might include sky diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing and kick boxing).

    3. You will give us access to all your school records and any other official records relating to you.

    4. You will let us do whatever we want with your story and the videos of you, and we will keep all the profits from that.

    5. You will not object if we show your most embarrassing moments or if we edit the video so that the viewers get an impression of you that is not true.

    6. You will never speak to a journalist about your experiences without our permission.

    7. While you are on the show you will pay for your own phone calls.

The full terms and conditions will be stated in a 30-page contract which you must sign. You can find further details here: http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/08/mtv_real_world_contract.php

I look forward to hearing from you again.

    Yours,

    Mr Endemol

  2. Oh Mr Endemol, please understand that this is not a usual Big Brother show; it is a game full of quizzes and fun, which is why we applied for the position! We will, however, examine the 30-page contract and let you know if you will be lucky enough to have fantastic Christinoula in one of your reality shows! Thank you for all the splendid information and the delightful comment! :-)
